Year of the Polar Bear

Hi everyone, happy 2015! According to the Chinese Zodiac, it’s the Year of the Sheep, but I’d also like to make this the Year of the Polar Bear! My goal for this year is to resume regular updates of The Last of the Polar Bears webcomic, and complete the rest of the story (or at least a large chunk of it!)

To achieve this goal, I’ve launched a Patreon page. If you haven’t heard of Patreon, it’s a site that lets fans support creative projects by becoming patrons (and receive exclusive bonus content)! If you enjoy Last of the Polar Bears, please take a look and consider helping support the comic’s creation this year. Thank you!

Polar Puffs

Stella and Nanook, reinterpreted in a MLP style.

Rough sketch.

Polar Den

Nanook and Stella snuggle in the den.

This illustration was done as an experiment to see if I could reproduce the look of traditional pencil lines of my comic, The Last of the Polar Bears, with digital tools. I created it from start to finish on the Cintiq Companion with Clip Studio Paint (and some final touches in Photoshop).

Being able to go completely digital on the comic would save me a lot of time (no more scanning and cleanup). :) What do you think, can you tell the difference?
